There was a great turnout for Morning Movie Madness! The kids came to the library all snuggly in their pj's with stuffed animals, pillows and blankets. The librarians had prepared a breakfast buffet with cereal, oranges, donuts, muffins (and coffee for the grown-ups).
The children enjoyed an educational program all about butterflies. Not only did they learn about these creatures during the engaging presentation, each child decorated a t-shirt too!
This week in Story Hour the children learned all about pizza!
Even though there was snow on the ground, the children had fun learning about picnics in Story Hour!
The children welcomed spring by learning about eggs and chicks in Story Hour.
Pretty soon, there will be lambs frolicking in spring grass! The kids had fun in story hour learning more about these wooly friends. They used rhythm sticks and sang and made a fuzzy sheep of their own!
Isn't it nice to hear the birds chirping? In Story Hour this week the children learned all about birds and nests. They went home with a paper bird and nest and some jellybean eggs!
Children stopped by the multi-purpose room to make a snowman coaster, a melting snowman and do some coloring!
What would you do if you were walking along the beach and found a stranded seal? The Seacoast Science Center gave an informative presentation about seals and how we can take care of them. Children learned about the four kinds of seals we have in New Hampshire. The presenter, Miss Sarah, is an actual volunteer who responds to calls about stranded seals! She talked with the children about what to look for and how to respond. The children even pretended to be volunteers themselves!
