Did you know that the Library has a Pinterest account? There we have several boards that may be of interest:
- For Children and Parents has links to a variety of resources--from book lists to crafts ideas to ideas for improving your child's reading skills.
- Toddlers links to articles for parents of young children.
- Travel Close to Home takes you to locations generally within a 2 hour drive from Windham. It's a great place to check for ideas of things to do during vacation weeks.
- Ebooks and Electronic Devices covers articles about the pros and cons of ereading, lists of apps, etc.
New Hampshire Family Voices is another resource which provides information on healthcare financing and other family issues. The NH Family Voices Lending Library has a selection of books written for children providing a positive, affirmative approach to learning about general health, illnesses, disabilities and behavioral challenges. Parent Information Center NH "strives to achieve positive outcomes for children and youth, with a focus on those with disabilities and special healthcare needs. This is achieved through its partnerships with families, educators, youth, professionals and organizations."
Story hour is a pre-registered program for children 3 to 6 years of age who can independently participate in an hour of stories, songs, and a coloring activity. (For Toddler Story Time, click here.) Twelve children are registered per class, and a child can only be registered for one time slot per session. Parents and/or guardians do not stay in story hour with the children, but are required to remain in the library during that time.
Sign up for the winter 2018 session on Wednesday, January 17, beginning at 9:00 AM. First-come, first-served basis.
Story Hours are not held during the summer months. Please call the Library at 432-7154 and ask to speak to Mrs. McCue if you have questions.
