Your card gives you access to eBooks, eAudiobooks, and eMagazines on your mobile and eReader devices with the GMILCS CloudLibrary and NH OverDrive services.
CloudLibrary is a service provided by the GMILCS consortium (originally funded with a Samuel P. Hunt Foundation Grant). To get started with CloudLibrary, click here.
Here's a sampling of CloudLibrary audiobooks:
New titles, additional copies of popular titles, reorders of expired titles (some eBook publishers' titles expire after a year, 26 checkouts, etc.):
OverDrive is provided by the Library's membership in New Hampshire Downloadable Books. OverDrive provides downloadable eBooks, and eAudiobooks. To get started with OverDrive for eBooks and eAudios, click here. Please note: OverDrive is no longer maintaining the original OverDrive app. For ease of use, remove the OverDrive app and install the "Libby, by OverDrive" app. (Instructions found here.) Also, if you are a OverDrive/Kindle user, please make sure your Amazon app is updated.
Please note: Libraries face a number of restrictions and increased costs that the ordinary consumer does not have. For example, some eBook publishers sell a book outright, others sell "expires after one-year" access, still others sell "expire after 26 check-outs." Newly published books may cost $84 each (or more), so it may not be possible to satisfy multiple users' immediate demands for bestsellers in electronic format. It is always a delicate balancing act between demand and funding, so we ask for your understanding and patience. Another restriction is that not every book is available in electronic format!
