The Story Hour children had so much fun learning about turtles in class this week. They even made their own little turtles!
The Nesmith Library is excited to offer a Sensory Storytime for children with sensory processing disorder, autism or other developmental delays. This small group will feature stories, songs and tactile activities geared towards children with sensory issues. Caregivers are asked to stay with their child during storytime. This is a registered program. Register by calling the library at 432-7154, or, stop by. If you have questions, please email Kari.
Thank you Jonah from the Boston Museum of Science for bringing the "Rockets: There and Back Again" program to the Nesmith Library. The children engineered two different kinds of rockets. They learned all about experimenting and perseverance.
It was inspiring to see the energy and creativity at our Little Maker Morning! There were three different crafts including a DIY Pom-pom Catapault. Many of the children (and some of their grown-ups) had fun exploring the Snap Circuits, Magformers and Brainflakes. Remember, the Makerspace Items will be available for in-library use in the Children's Room from now on! Many thanks to FLOW for funding our new Makerspace Items!
The kids learned the basics of lacrosse with Miss Jen from Sports Stars for Kids. From cradling to scooping, I think everyone learned something new about this unique sport! Many thanks to Miss Jen for her energetic program!
The kids absolutely loved this program! Maryanne the Magnificent taught them how to make all kinds of fun balloon creations including swords, flowers, and even aliens! Thank you Maryanne!
Everyone was amazed by Ilze Luneau's basketball tricks! Some of the kids even learned how to spin basketballs. Thank Ilze!
Who doesn't love Legos? Over 80 people came to build with Legos at our drop-in Lego program! We also had snacks and raffle prizes.The Lego creations will be on display in the Chidlren's Room.
The toddlers had a fun morning playing and learning all about fish and other ocean creatures!
