1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
New Hampshire 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten (1BBK) follows a nationwide early literacy initiative that encourages families to read to their young children and to use the free resources available to them at their public libraries. At the Nesmith Library young readers ages 0-5 can track their reading on Beanstack, the same app we use for our summer reading challenges!
For the first 100 books read our patrons earn their 1BBK tote bag and every subsequent 100 logged books they earn fun patches for their bag. Readers like Caroline (photo feature) have the chance to be featured on our social media pages and more! Towards the end of the school year we celebrate our graduates with a special storytime.
