Guided Birdwalk on the Windham Rail Trail with Steve Hale

Join us as Steve Hale from Open World Explorers guides us on a 1-hour birdwalk on the Windham Rail Trail. We'll meet at the parking lot at the Windham Depot and start promptly at 9am, rain or shine. Since we'll be looking for birds in their natural habitat, quiet is a must, so this is an adults-only program. Dress appropriately for the weather, and don't forget your binoculars and bird guides!

TV's Golden Age of Candlepin Bowling with Mike Morin

“Hold on to Your Tray Tables, Boys and Girls!”
This was the Saturday lunchtime rally cry from legendary Channel 5 sportscaster Don Gillis. Every week for nearly four decades, families slurped tomato soup and crunched on grilled cheese sandwiches while the world’s best candlepin bowlers performed otherworldly feats for over 200,000 TV viewers. Candlepin Bowling, often the top-rated Boston sports show of the week, made names like Czernicki, Olszta, and Jutras as familiar as Bird, Yastrzemski and Orr.
