Come experience a taste of the library’s Craft Club! Drop in any time starting at 6pm for an evening of holiday adult coloring, homemade ornaments, and more! Examples of our 2016 crafts will be on display. Come meet some new friends, and enjoy a fun evening away from the holiday rush. No crafting experience necessary. Children 8+ are welcome with an adult. Light refreshments provided. Great for those looking to learn more about our fun, inclusive, educational, and free club!
Sean Gaskell will give an all ages musical performance and educational demonstration on the kora, an ancient 21-stringed harp from West Africa. He will feature traditional songs that are the heart and soul of the kora’s musical repertoire in addition to some of his own personal compositions. Sean Gaskell features traditional songs on the 21 stringed West African Kora. The Kora is native to the Mande peoples who live within the countries of Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Guinea, and Guinea Bissau. The music is traditionally played by oral and musical historians known as Griots (Gree-ohs).
The Nesmith Library Board will hold a meeting Wednesday evening, January 18th at 7 p.m. This will be an executive session to discuss personnel.
Local author Frank L. Grzyb is a decorated Army combat veteran. He was awarded a Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and Army Commendation Medal along with several service medals and campaign ribbons.

Do you love to cook? Do you have a prize-worthy healthy recipe? Drop by the library to pick up an official contest form, and be entered to win great prizes. You do not need to bring in any food, just an original written recipe. Recipes will be judged on originality and creativity. Fun for all ages!
