Teen Summer Reading

Kick-Off Party 2011

About 60 teens crowded into the Multipurpose Room for a fun afternoon of raffles, ice cream sundaes, and entertainment

by Escape Artist Peter Vuono

The fun began with  "geography questions" with candy thrown to the winners!  Teacher and Library Assistant Michael Miloro and Library Summer Intern Melissa Kalenderian tossed out the questions and candy.

The ominous "tools of the trade" of

escape artist Peter Vuono!

Tempting prizes (along with T-shirts and balloons) were won with raffle tickets.

These prizes will be raffled off the the End-of-Summer Reading Party!

One after another, Peter Vuomo escaped from ropes....

...electrical tape...

...animal trap...

...and even a straitjacket, metal collar, and handcuffs!

Then raffle tickets were drawn and teens picked the prize of their choice!

And finally, teens enjoyed making their own ice cream sundaes!

The afternoon brought lots of smiles, excitement and fun to the Library.  For more information about the Teen Summer Reading Program, click here.  It's not too late to sign up for a summer of reading, fun programs, and prizes!
