The Friends of the Library of Windham Scholarships

Let the Friends of the Library of Windham help fund your college education. Once again this year, we are pleased to offer both our Friends of the Library of Windham Annual Scholarship and the Friends of the Library of Windham Mary Long Scholarship.

Scholarship winners will be announced at the Strawberry Festival and Book Fair on May 31st.


These scholarships are valued at $4,000 each and are awarded to a high school senior who is a Windham resident. Requirements include a minimum 3.0 grade point average and three letters of recommendation. Applicants for the Friends’ Annual Scholarship may be enrolled in any college degree program. Applicants for the Friends’ Mary Long Scholarship must be enrolled in one of the following degree programs: Art, Dance, Drama/Theatre, Music, Creative Writing, Communications, Broadcast Journalism, History, Art History, Architecture, Museum Studies, Art Conservation, Film or Graphic Arts.

Windham Endowment for Community Advancement Scholarships

For students graduating in 2014, six scholarships are available.

Please note that a student may apply for more than one scholarship and that recipients are chosen in a "blind" process.

If you are a Windham High School (WHS) student, you must submit your applications by 2:30pm on Monday, April 7, 2014 to Julie George in the WHS Guidance Department. Applications from students at other schools must be postmarked by April 7 and sent to : Windham Endowment for Community Advancement, P.O. Box 4315, Windham NH 03087.

Only complete applications submitted by the deadline will be considered for these awards. The selection process will be “blind” and recipients will be notified by May 31, 2014.

Alexander Eastman Foundation

The Alexander Eastman Foundation has established a scholarship program for students pursuing further education in a health care field. The program is designed to provide scholarship grants from $200 to $2,500 to health care workers who seek to upgrade their professional skills.

Applications will be due in June, 2014 and grant decisions will be made in August, 2014.

Offers 4 Memorial Scholarships:

The David Dunn Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1000

The Merrill Greenlee Memorial Scholarship in the amount of $1000

The Jeffery P. Shaw Memorial Scholarship Engineering Scholarship offering two scholarships of $1,000 each.
