Donations needed for the
“Back-to-School” Clothing Drive
With less than two weeks left of our “Back to School” clothing drive, Windham’s Helping Hands is asking the community for help fulfilling the requests. There are still many “paper apples” remaining on the “schoolhouse” at the Nesmith Library. Unfortunately, not everyone can afford the outfits and supplies necessary for their children to return to school. The holiday season is not the only time that some families need a little assistance. Windham’s Helping Hands would like you to join us in helping to lessen the burden for these Windham families by providing new school clothing for 45 school-aged children.
There is a large red school house set up in the Nesmith Library displaying the paper apples signifying a child who could use specific school supplies, a new outfit or a pair of shoes (sizes will be provided). To help, simply choose an “apple,” purchase the item(s) and return it to the library with the paper apple attached no later than Sunday, August 16th (attach a gift receipt if possible in case sizing is wrong). As you are purchasing these items, you can image the feeling that that child will get when he/she receives your gift. Your gift will help provide a positive and confident beginning to their school year!
For additional information, contact Sally Hunt at 898-9586 or Julie Lichtmann at 893-2636. To make cash donations, mail a check or money order to: Windham’s Helping Hands, P.O. Box 4073, Windham, NH 03087.
Windham’s Helping Hands thanks the kind and thoughtful people of Windham who support our projects & events.
