Registration Procedure forNesmith Library Story HoursIn an effort to make story hour registration easier for our patrons, Nesmith Library Youth Services has surveyed story hour parents. The results of the surveys indicate that the majority of parents prefer day registration (instead of evening), and in-person registration (instead of a lottery system or phone registration). To accommodate your needs, the following registration system is in place. Registration for the summer story hour session will be held on Tuesday, June 24, 2008. Numbers will be handed out when the library opens at 9:00AM. No phone registrations will be taken until after the in house library registration is completed, and therefore subject to space availability. Story hour is for children ages 3-6 years of age who can independently participate in an hour of stories, songs, and a simple coloring project. While the child is in his/her story hour class, a parent or guardian needs to remain in the library at all times. Children must be three years of age by June 1, 2008, and each child may only be registered for one class per story hour session. Please bring a birth certificate for first-time participants. Story hour sessions will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 10:00-11:00am, and on Wednesday afternoons from 1:00-2:00pm. Due to the 4th of July holiday, this summer session begins the week of July 7th with the last class during the week of August 4th. Please note that this program is open to families who are Nesmith Library cardholders.
If you have any questions please call Jane McCue or Karen Frey at

Thank you for your support.

Registration for the
Summer Toddler Story Time will be by telephone only beginning at 9 a.m., Monday,
June 23, 2008. Please call 432-7154.
Toddler story time is for ages 18 months to 36 months with a caregiver. Sessions will be held on Monday mornings at 9:30 and 10:30, beginning July 7th.
Toddler story time provides an opportunity for you and your child to explore the library, enjoy books together, and visit with other families. Sharing books with your child encourages healthy language development, helps you bond with your child, and stimulates their rapidly growing minds. It also helps to build a strong foundation for later learning.
Please note: Toddler Story Time is open only to cardholders of the Nesmith Library.
For more information,
please call Lori Morse or Karen Frey at 432-7154. Thank
you.
