“All About Whales“

Monday, February 14th

A representative from the Seacoast Science Center in Rye, NH visited the Nesmith Library to present All About Whales to area Homeschoolers ages 4 and up.  How big do whales get? What kinds of whales live near us? Why do some whales have teeth and others have baleen? All About Whales taught children about these enormous, fascinating marine mammals.

A crowd of attentive children and their parents gathered.

Children learned how looooooong whales are!

A whale's ear, and how to tell how old this mammal is.

Pieces of a whale's backbone.

The dangers to whales and how you can help were explained.
